About Politicapp

We are a young team of politically and socially interested students that want to explore the deliberative capability of today’s democracy. In times of digitalisation, we hope that technological mechanisms can help to improve the democratic discourse in our ever dividing societies.

We have experienced a loss of control and a lack of understanding about contemporary complex social and political issues. Not to mention, the division of societies affects even our personal and familiar environment. Deeply concerned about this polarisation we find ourselves discussing innovations that could potentially work against this development. Democracy implies the rule of the people which should enable different opinions and political affiliations to peacefully live together in a society. To guarantee this ideal political pluralism, it is important to stay informed, listen and understand each other's opinions. 

The internationally diverse city of Amsterdam does offer through a variety of venues the possibility to take on this discourse, listen to individual stories, inform yourself with little effort, and come together for a good day/evening. Using the resources of the digital age our aim through the Politicapp is  to provide an easy overview of the everyday program as well as an easy way to engage and explore politics through various features allowing for active and passive participation (coming soon).
